An additional service I offer, unlike most animal and people portrait artists, is that I can combine a person with a particular animal using photographs of both as reference. Likewise I can combine people from different photographs. One other service I offer is to dress you in virtually any period outfit you desire providing, of course, I can obtain relevant reference material (as depicted in the portraits above).
"The Waiting" - (prints available)
Another aspect of my commissioned art .... illustrations of homes for the owners. This was completed March, 2019.
This is my first work of 2019. "COMMANDER IN CHIEF" measures 14"x 17".
As of 12 Dec., 2018 this is my latest work. It is of Park Ranger Tommy Cockerham, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Kalispell, MT. My wife and I had the distinct pleasure of working as camp hosts at the Thompson Chain of Lakes, summer of 2017 where we met and made friends with Tommy. One of most genuine and friendliest person we have ever met. It was an honor and great pleasure to be able to produce this portrait for him. The hardest part of the whole process will be trying to gift it to him!
My latest commission was of the McCurry's granddaughter. Their previous grandchildren had portraits done in a semi-caricature style and I was to attempt to duplicate them as close as possible. Here is their reaction to the final piece .....

"We just had a wonderful experience working with Greg Smith who is a portrait artist who recently moved to the Villages. We have been searching for someone who could help us complete our pen and ink pictures of our granddaughters. Our granddaughters range in age from 24 to 8 years old, our children gave us the pictures of the 3 older girls for Christmas 18 years ago. For the last 5 years we’ve been looking for someone with the talent to provide a picture that fits in with the original three. We’ve had a few done but until today there hasn’t been one that complements the first three. The picture Greg provided was spot on and working with him was a joy. We finally have all the girls together thanks to Greg. He does amazing pet portraits as well!" by Kathryn McCurry
